The Johari Window is a model that helps individuals understand and improve their interpersonal communication and relationships. It consists of four quadrants, each representing a different aspect of one's self-awareness and the degree to which that awareness is shared with others. The four quadrants are: Open Area: This represents the aspects of oneself that are known to both oneself and others. It includes behaviors, attitudes, feelings, and other personal characteristics that are openly expressed. Hidden Area: This represents the aspects of oneself that are known to oneself but not to others. This includes private thoughts, fears, and other information that one chooses not to disclose to others. Blind Spot: This represents the aspects of oneself that are known to others but not to oneself. This can include behaviors or attitudes that one is unaware of or that others perceive differently than intended. Unknown Area: This represents the aspects of oneself that are unknown to both oneself and others. This can include undiscovered talents, unrecognized biases, or unacknowledged emotions. By understanding the Johari Window model and the four quadrants, individuals can identify areas of personal growth and work to increase self-awareness and improve interpersonal communication.
